French Provincial Interior Design
Yesterday my friend was telling me about how she just learned that her taste in interior design is a combination of Transitional and Scandinavian. I had to look up what Transitional interior design is.
I started thinking about what to describe my desired design as and the best I could think of was Napoleonic and Rustic.
(Back story, I have wanted my house to look like the interior of a pastel-themed home from a Jane Austen movie, leaning towards Elizabeth Bennett's house because of the touches of rustic charm).
So I looked up Rustic design to see if I actually thought it meant what I thought it meant. I found an article called something like, "What Type of Farmhouse Design Style are You?" And the last type it listed was French Farmhouse. I knew as soon as I heard those words, without even looking at any pictures, that this is the term I have been looking for.
*lets out a sigh of relief from years of uninspired design decisions now come to a close*
I later learned that another, maybe more commonly used name is French Provincial. I also realized that French Provincial is what Belle and Cinderella were surrounded by, so that's great. I am literally going to have a fairy tale house.
